OTC Public Images Release Notes July 2023
SMT service
Migration SMT - package repository service
Package repository server preconfigured in OTC public images
will be upgraded and shifted into a new infrastructure.
planned date: 24th of July 2023
affected service URL: smt.eu-de.otc-service.com
affected OTC regions: eu-de
After migration, IP address of SMT service URL will be provided out of
a new network segment: 198.19.0.0/16
Access to this network segment is allowed for all ECS by default.
Please ensure not to block this network segment in private security groups.
For migration, there is
- no service downtime
- no need to reconfigure running ECS or existing images

Linux
Discontinue Ubuntu 18.04
OTC public image Standard_Ubuntu_18.04 will be discontinued on 31th December 2023.
what does that mean?
public images will be no longer listed in OTC public image list
- Standard_Ubuntu_18.04_latest
- Standard_Ubuntu_18.04_prev
OTC internal package repositories preconfigured in Standard_Ubuntu_18.04 images will be available as long as they are oficially provided by vendor. https://imagefactory.otc.t-systems.com/package-repositories
Already existing ECS installed with one of these images
- existing ECS installed with one of these images can be reinstalled
- existing ECS installed with one of these images can be used to create a new ECS
A new ECS can still be installed with a discontinued image by using its image id directly. Using a discontinued image is without OTC support.
It is recommended to migrate existing ECS to
- Standard_Ubunut_22.04_latest
Discontinue Fedora 36
OTC public image Standard_Fedora_36 will be discontinued on 30th September 2023.
what does that mean?
