Discontinue Ubuntu 20.04

OTC public image Standard_Ubuntu_20.04 will be discontinued on 31th August 2025.

what does that mean?

public images will be no longer listed in OTC public image list

  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_GPU_NV_latest
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_GPU_NV_prev
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_GPU_latest
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_GPU_prev
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_P100_latest
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_P100_prev
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_latest
  • Standard_Ubuntu_20.04_prev  

OTC internal package repositories preconfigured in Standard_Ubuntu_20.04 images will be available as long as they are oficially provided by vendor. https://imagefactory.otc.t-systems.com/package-repositories

  Already existing ECS installed with one of these images

  • existing ECS installed with one of these images can be reinstalled
  • existing ECS installed with one of these images can be used to create a new ECS  

A new ECS can still be installed with a discontinued image by using its image id directly. Using a discontinued image is without OTC support.

It is recommended to migrate existing ECS to

  • Standard_Ubuntu_24.04_amd64_bios_latest

or in case of Nvida image to

  • Standard_Ubuntu_22.04_GPU_NV_latest
