Discontinue Fedora 37

OTC public image Standard_Fedora_37 will be discontinued on 31th March 2024.

what does that mean?

public images will be no longer listed in OTC public image list

  • Standard_Fedora_37_latest
  • Standard_Fedora_37_prev  

OTC internal package repositories preconfigured in Standard_Fedora_37_latest images will be available until 30th June 2024.

  Already existing ECS installed with one of these images

  • existing ECS installed with one of these images can be reinstalled
  • existing ECS installed with one of these images can be used to create a new ECS

A new ECS can still be installed with a discontinued image by using its image id directly. Using a discontinued image is without OTC support.

It is recommended to migrate existing ECS to

  • Standard_Fedora_39_amd64_bios_latest

AlmaLinux 8 GPG key change

  • On January 12, 2024 AlmaLinux will start signing RPM packages and repodata for AlmaLinux 8 with the updated GPG key
  • If you apply updates on a regular basis and your system is sufficiently modern. Version 8.8-3.el8 or higher of the almalinux-release package (published on October 16, 2023) contains the updated AlmaLinux 8 GPG key.
  • In the event that your system has not been updated in a long period and the version of the almalinux-release package is less than 8.8-3.el8, you will need to manually import the new GPG key

OTC public images for Windows Server 2012 R2 will be discontinued on 15th February 2024.

what does that mean?

A new ECS can still be installed with a discontinued image by using its image id directly. Using a discontinued image is without OTC support.

It is recommended to reinstall existing ECS with newer OS e.g. Microsoft Windows Server 2022
